Q. Is 4-H all about animals?
A. No. Animal science and other traditional programs play an important role in our club as well as many non-traditional programs such as Healthy Living, leadership and citizenship, and science and technology, to name just a few. Some of our favorite club projects include speech & presentation, arts & crafts, sewing, cultural arts, photography, and cake decorating, among others. Q. How often are the meetings held? A. Our entire club holds a “General Meeting” on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm at Wood Ranch Elementary School in Simi Valley. Most individual projects also hold monthly meetings after school or on weekends. For all our meeting times, check out our club calendar above Q. Do you have to own an animal to do join an animal project? A. No. You are welcome to join animal projects to learn more about the species. Animal ownership is not required. Q. When is a good time to register? A. The 4-H year runs from July to June, so it is ideal to register at our first meeting of the season in September. You must register before December 31st to be eligible for many competitions including, but not limited to, the Ventura County Fair. Q: How do I join 4-H? A: It’s easy! Just follow the instructions on our registration link above under Links |
